Canterbury's commercial glazing splits fairly clearly along the same lines as its housing. Inside the city walls, retail units and cafes trading on tourist footfall near the cathedral deal with glare on tills and window displays fading in the sun, often in period buildings where any change to the glazing needs a bit more care. Outside the centre, offices and University of Kent buildings tend to have larger, more modern glazing, where the complaint is usually heat rather than glare.
